With Dignity

Dearest dad, some of his last words were to Charlie. My brother was talking to him about a photo of dad and me, dad didn’t have a lot of money back then. So dad chirped up to say he raised me “with dignity” which he did. I was raised decently, honestly.

I have been perplexed by someone. He’s not mysterious, but the “je ne sais quoi” is strong in him. It’s like everyone else is only playing at life and he’s doing it properly. Integrity oozes from him. And I can’t explain why? If someone matters to him he’s loyal. He visits people in prison. He looks after his dad and sister. He is so full of nonchalance. Living authentically can do that for you. The fact that there’s room for me to grow with him was immense. Never had a man want to grow me. Always, men want to make me small, put me down. A man who can lift me up, a man who wants to grow me I see as intoxicating. Yet he has gravitas, yet he has grace, yet he has wisdom. One of those things can make a great leader, all three? He’s going to be someone great. I can’t wait to hear about it. He will win at life. I can’t wait to see how. All those lives he will impact. He is someone special. Make nothing ever dim his light.
